Ambassador Andrew Ross
Meet Andrew Ross, an Ambassador for IRH since 2013
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Andrew is one of central Pennsylvania’s leading showjumping riders, trainers and riding instructors. Andrew teaches out of Foxfield Farm in Reinholds, Pa and has trained with some of the world’s foremost equestrians including George Morris, McLain Ward, Joe Fargis, Peter and Mark Leone, Anne Kursinski, Terri Rudd, Laurie Jakubauskas and Jessica Ranshousen.
As a competitor, Andrew has had much success in the regional open jumper and grand prix divisions winning many top honors with his longtime partners Electra, Estella and his latest mount Cornet's Cobalt. Andrew has also successfully prepared young horses for the Young Jumper Championships and the breed approval events such as the KWPN.
Andrew believes that correct equitation will maximize the horse's performance and result in more clear rounds. Andrew has successfully coached many riders ranging from grand prix jumper classes to national equitation finals to local schooling shows. He uses a calm, technical approach that encourages riders to think and work with the horse. Andrew prefers one-on-one or semi private riding lessons so that he can tailor each session to the horse and rider's specific needs. He is particularly good at teaching young students how to transition from their learning ponies and horses to the more advanced jumper and equitation mounts. If your child is ready to move up, Andrew can take them to the next level and beyond.
